Le groupe de travail chargé du suivi (GTCS) du processus de Kimberley traite des questions liées à la mise en œuvre du système de certification dans les pays participants, afin de promouvoir l'application intégrale et effective de celui-ci par tous les participants.

Ce groupe de travail est responsable du mécanisme d'évaluation par les pairs, organise les visites d'examen dans les pays participants et procède à l'évaluation de leurs rapports annuels. Il est également tenu de gérer les crises liées aux problèmes de mise en œuvre qui, dans certains pays, pourraient compromettre l'intégrité du processus de Kimberley.

All but one annual report have been received. The peer review for Lebanon took place in July, while reviews for Canada and Switzerland have been scheduled. Review for the USA, SA, and Namibia are in the process of being finalized for either late 2012 or 2013. Other matters included concern over fraudulent certificates, reporting mechanism for observers, enforcement, and suspicious shipments.
