Kimberley Process Participation Committee (PC) Summary record of PC Teleconference held on 3 May 2012
Participants: DRC (Chair), Angola, Canada, US, South Africa, Civil Society; Also - Representative of Cameroon
The PC focused its discussions on the status of potential KP applicant countries, specifically Cameroon, Panama, and Burkina Faso. Each of these countries has taken substantial steps to fulfilling the requirements to be considered for participant status but has some items remaining. The PC tentatively agreed to send an experts mission to Cameroon to evaluate their progress. The PC then turned to an update on the status of Venezuela and will resume these discussions during the June Intersessional meeting of the KP.
