Working Group of Diamond Experts

The Working Group of Diamond Experts (WGDE), also known as the technical working group, solves technical problems in implementing the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.

Working Group on Statistics

The WGS is mandated by the Plenary representing all Participants to deal with statistical matters pertaining to rough diamonds, particularly with respect to the production and trade in rough diamonds, to ensure the effective implementation of the KPCS across its membership in line with Annex III of the KPCS core document.

Committee on Participation and Chairmanship

The CPC is responsible for managing the involvement of Participants and Observers in the Kimberley Process and for implementing the established process for selecting a new Vice-­‐Chair of the Kimberley Process.

Working Group of Monitoring

The WGM is mandated by the Plenary representing all Participants to deal with issues relating to monitoring of the implementation of the KPCS..

Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production

The role of the WGAAP is to address issues of alluvial artisanal producing Participants’ particular concerns about their overall compliance with the implementation of section IV (Internal Controls) of the KPCS Core Document, by promoting specific measures for more effective internal controls over alluvial artisanal production, and by promoting development initiatives for guarantee of artisanal responsibly mined diamonds, for improving communities’ living standards and for mitigating development constraints.

Committee on Rules and Procedures

The primary goal of the CRP is development of rules and procedures within the KPCS  as well as making recommendations to the Chair of the Kimberley Process regarding compliance with the rules and procedures established in the KP.

Ad hoc Committee on Review and Reform

The Ad hoc Committee on Review and Reform (AHCRR) was mandated to perform the review and reform of the KPCS, and the most recent AHCRR was from 2023 to 2025, which was the review cycle of the KP. The AHCRR may constitute sub-teams to assist the process of review and reform.
