The Kimberley Process Chair, Mr. Ahmed Bin Sulayem announced the second in a series of three, one-day ‘Special Forums’, on rough diamond valuation, to be held on 30 September 2016 at the Hylitt Hotel, Antwerp, Belgium.
The Kimberley Process Chair 2016, Mr. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, published a mid-term report, a first for the Kimberley Process, highlighting key initiatives such as on-site visits to the major diamond producing nations of Africa, the initiation of a series of Valuation Seminars and a proposal which explores the use of blockchain technology to help enhance security measures.
EU KP Authorities for Verification of Import/Export Shipments

As of 26th January 2016 there are only 6 EU Authorities empowered to verify import and export shipments of rough diamonds, namely Antwerp (Belgium), Bucharest (Romania), Idar-Oberstein (Germany), Lisbon (Portugal), London (United Kingdom) and Prague (Czech Republic).

On April 23-24, 2012, the Ad Hoc Committee on KPCS Review (CKR) met in Brussels to discuss the process of preparing recommendations for the KPCS Intersessional, based on the mandate given to the CKR through the administrative decisions adopted in Kinshasa on November 3rd 2011, namely: AD 005-2011 Amendment to Administrative Decision on the Establishment of an Ad Hoc Committee for Exploring the Modalities of Enhancing of the Kimberley Process with a View to Provide Administrative Support for Its Activities and AD 006-2011 Administrative Decision on the Periodic Review of the KPCS.
